Sir,
With reference to your letter 92/18 of the 24th
April, 1918, I am directed to inform you that the question
of the payment of £38 to Mr. Swinnerton has been referred
to the Deputy Assistent Adjutant and Quartermaster General
end to forward a copy of the latter's reply.
2. I am further to forward you a copy of a letter from the Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster General
of the 31st. May, 1918, from which it will be obvious that
the payment of Mr. Swinnerton's passage is not a matter for
this Government but that any claim in that connection should
be made to the War Office.
3. I am therefore to return your voucher No. 142 and
to confirm my previous request that you will credit this Government with 8228.71 in the next quarterly account.
